SINGAPORE, 7 January 2010 - Toshiba's Computer Systems Division (CSD), a division of Toshiba Singapore Pte Ltd, today announced the new Toshiba NB300 and NB305, the next generation of its award-winning netbook, built for comfort and style. Targeted at users looking for a secondary ultraportable computing device who don't want to compromise on usability and design, the new models offer an enhanced feature set with an ultra long battery life of up to 11 hours* and further design enhancements over their predecessor. Extended battery life for all-day computing "Building on the success of their popular predecessor, we further improved the design of our netbook range, giving the Toshiba NB300 series an even more sophisticated look," says Ms. Wong Wai Meng, Senior Manager of Product Marketing, Toshiba's Computer Systems Division. The NB300 series is enhanced by an energy efficient design, featuring a 10.1" Clear SuperView LED backlight display, plus the latest Intel® Atom™ processor, which delivers an improvement over previous generation processors in power efficiency, and a new high-capacity 6 cell battery that is seamless integrated into its design, enabling the NB300 series to achieve an impressive battery life of up to 11 hours*. Streamlined Design with Smarter Features Sporting more curves and a slimmer profile, the new NB305 adopts the same popular attention-grabbing matt finish and pleated textured design of its predecessor in four colors options: Mocha Brown, Indigo Blue, Snow White and Scarlet Red, with a silver tile-styled keyboard and a chrome-accented hinge. The NB300 offers choice to more budget conscious consumers. It is adorned in Cosmic Black with Toshiba Fusion Finish decorated with a pattern of slanting lines along with a black flat keyboard. |
Both netbooks feature comfortable full-sized keyboards, plus large Multi Touchpads with Gesture Support, making navigation easy and intuitive. To ensure high reliability and durability, the NB300 series comes integrated with hard drive protection, which is generally found only in higher priced Notebook PCs. The embedded 3D motion sensor safeguards the data stored in the hard disk drive in case of drops or shocks by instantly removing the HDD heads from between the disks. For even greater convenience, selected models of the NB300 also feature built-in HSPA (3.5G) for even more seamless web connectivity.
The NB300 series also comes equipped with the Toshiba Bulletin Board and ReelTime applications that help organize everyday projects and activities in a personalized way and provides a unique way to easily find and access stored files.
